Training for work

Young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) can work independently after completing compulsory education.

Some young people choose to go into employment or training after turning 18 years old. Employment is where you work under a contract and earn money. Training involves working but getting a qualification at the end of the training period.

There are two main types of training: supported internships and apprenticeships.
