Personal budgets and direct payments
Most of the time, you will not need to access any additional funding. We are usually responsible for allocating funding through the education setting.
We will make sure the funding is spent on the provision named in your child’s EHCP.
This is called a personal budget.
In some cases, you may be able to request that some of the personal budget is paid to you, or to a requested professional such as a therapist or tutor. These are called direct payments.
You must only spend money we send to you through direct payments on the provision listed in your child’s EHCP. You will have to provide evidence that you have done this.
If we believe you have not spent this money correctly, we may stop making direct payments to you and may regain some of this money.
