A carer's assessment helps you identify and access services that might help you in your caring role.
You might not think of yourself as a carer, but we recognise you as one if you help look after a family member or friend without payment.
A carer's assessment is different to a care assessment for an adult who needs support.
In a carer's assessment, we ask questions about how you manage your caring role while meeting your own needs and family responsibilities.
Ways we might help
After an assessment, there are many ways we might be able to help. For example, providing:
- a carer's emergency card
- access to our carer's Short Breaks service
- direct payments to fund services you organise and manage
- recommendations for other support you can access
Alternatively, contact us another way.
