Our SEND Local Offer provides information and support for children and young people aged 0 to 25 years in Hounslow who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
We want parents, carers, young people, and professionals to all understand the educational, health and social care support available for children and young people with SEND.
We also want to help families find other local organisations, initiatives and activities that might be interesting or helpful.
We have improved our SEND Local Offer website with the following values and goals in mind:
- Easy to navigate
We want information to be easy to find either by searching the site or clicking on links from the homepage. - An improved user experience
We have moved our SEND Local Offer onto a new website that is easier to use. We have worked to organise the information, documents and forms so it is clear what is aimed at you – whether you’re a parent, carer, young person or professional. - A focus on accessibility
We recognise that our old SEND Local Offer website was not as accessible as it could have been. We’ve now added a search tool and translation function to help you find and understand the information you need. - Focussed on support
We want to empower you to use our information to support you in your daily lives. We have put a focus on talking to you, not at you. We want our content to be written in a way that is easy for you to understand.

How we've created the Local Offer
In accordance with our duties in the SEND Code of Practice 2015, we have created our SEND Local Offer using feedback from:
- children and young people
- parents and carers
- local services
- schools and colleges
- health and social care agencies
