Apply for a child work permit
To apply for a child work permit, you need to provide:
- a completed application form
- a current passport size photograph of the child
- a copy of the child's birth certificate
You need to do this within the first five days of the child's employment.
The purpose of the application process is to help regulate the protection, health, safety and welfare of children.
Employers who employ children and do not apply for a work permit are breaking the law and may be prosecuted.
