About neurodiversity

Neurodiversity is a word that describes the difference between all human brains.

Everyone is neurodiverse but not everyone is neurodivergent.

Under the umbrella term neurodiversity, there are two more terms:

  1. Neurotypical, which describes someone whose brain functions, behaviours and processing are considered standard or typical.
  2. Neurodivergent, which refers to people whose brain works differently to the standard or typical. This includes neurodevelopmental differences such as autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Knowing more about our differences can help us to be more understanding.
