Adult social care: No recourse to public funds

If you have come to the UK to settle, you will usually have 'no recourse to public funds (NRPF)' while your application for 'permanent settled status' is considered.

This means you are not entitled to most benefits or for housing assistance, unless an exception applies.

However, having NRPF does not mean you cannot access help or support. For example, you can still receive primary healthcare through the NHS and access state-funded education.

You may be able to receive support from adult social care if you have NRPF.

You would need to be assessed as having care and support needs under the Care Act 2014. This is established through a care assessment.
