Apply to vote by proxy

The easiest way to apply for a proxy vote is online. You will need to provide:

  • a photograph of your signature (clear and light on plain, white paper)
  • your National Insurance number

Proxy vote deadlines

The deadline for making an application for a proxy vote for an election is 5pm, six working days before polling day. However, if you are already registered to vote by post, the deadline to change from a postal vote to a proxy vote is 5pm, 11 working days before polling day.

If you cannot apply online

Alternatively, you can contact us at elections@hounslow.gov.uk to request a paper application form.

We will send to the form by email for you to print off. If you do not have a printer, you can ask us to send you the form by post.

You need to provide your physical ("wet") signature using black ink where it's requested in the application.

You can visit your local library if you need help completing your application. 

You can send your application either:

  • as scanned attachments in PDF format in an email to elections@hounslow.gov.uk (please make sure all your scans are legible)
  • by post to the address below
