Get involved with housing

Local community groups and activities

There is a range of community activities taking place where you live. They provide an opportunity to:

  • be part of the community
  • meet and make new friends and reduce social isolation
  • make a difference to the community's health and wellbeing

Our resident engagement officers (RGOs) can give support and advice on a number of activities which may interest tenants. These might include issues faced in the and around your estate or near your home that you want to make a difference to. We are here to listen to your ideas and will work with you to achieve them.

Activities include:

  • gardening groups
  • life skills including DIY and first aid
  • community fun days
  • community projects
  • volunteer estate inspection programme

If you have an idea for your local area (for example starting a community project, improving your community space or having a fun day), we can help with:

  • advice on how to get involved and started
  • support with funding and bid writing
  • training and using your skills
