Generous annual leave
Starting at 23 days plus bank holidays, rising to a maximum of 33 days (according to job grade).
Christmas closure
Up to three days between Christmas and New Year, if your office is closed. This is at the discretion of the council.
Enhanced maternity and adoption leave
- Up to 52 weeks’ leave after the birth or placement of your child
- 28 weeks’ full pay
- Option for a phased return to work over three months
Paternity leave
Up to four weeks' leave with full pay after the birth or placement your child.
Premature baby and neonatal care leave and pay
Where a baby is born prematurely, and/or requires neonatal care we offer leave and pay to support you. This is in addition to other family leave entitlements that you may receive. We are proud to have The Smallest Things charter mark.
Parental leave
Up to 18 weeks’ unpaid leave for childcare reasons.
Shared parental leave
Up to 52 weeks' shared parental leave.
