Visiting the Reuse and Recycling Centre with a trailer or van

Potential site disruption - Saturday 14 to Monday 16 December 2024

Due to a mechanical fault with a vehicle in use on the site, there may be disruption to service at the Reuse and Recycling Centre from Saturday 14 December to Monday 16 December. This may happen at short notice and may result in closure. This would affect:

  • trade customers
  • residents using a van or car with a trailer
  • residents with chargeable waste

We expect the repair to be carried out on Monday 16 December. We will provide an update when the situation changes.

This page has information about visiting the Reuse and Recycling Centre as a resident using a van or a car with a trailer.

There is different guidance if you're:

You can visit with a van or trailer once per calendar year.

You will be charged as a trade waste customer if:

  • you visit with a van or trailer more than once in the calendar year
  • you're borrowing a van or trailer from someone else and it has already visited the site in the calendar year (it's up to you to know whether this has happened)
  • you're using a removal company, ‘man-with-a-van’ or an associated trade vehicle
  • you're a landlord disposing of waste from rental properties

Opening hours

8am to 3pm, seven days a week. Last entry is 2.45pm. These are the same hours as trade customers.

You do not make a booking to visit.

To enter, you need:

  • photo ID
  • a Council Tax bill (this can be on a smartphone if you wish)

Different types of waste and recycling. Your visit will be quicker and easier if you sort your waste into different materials when you load your car.

You can bring someone to help you unload your waste. Only bring what you (and your passenger) can lift. Staff cannot assist you with physical help.
