Travel training service

 We provide independent travel training and support to adults with:

  • a learning or physical disability
  • autism
  • mental health difficulty
  • sensory impairment
  • a long-term health condition

The service aims to make you more confident to travel safely and independently. It covers public transport (buses, trains and tubes) and walking routes. 

The support is provided by fully trained adults with disabilities. Our trainers accompany service users on their journeys offering advice and practical support.

Who can get travel training

To be eligible for the service you need to:

  • be aged 16 or over
  • live or work in the London Borough of Hounslow
  • have a disability (learning disability, autism, physical disability, mental health difficulty, sensory impairment or a long-term health condition)
  • be aiming to increase and show a commitment to developing your independent travel skills
  • be willing and able to travel using public transport
  • be physically able to walk short distances
  • be known to a professional who is able to provide information on your disability
