Independent group of parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) in Hounslow.
Works with local SEND services to ensure that the support and services they offer suits the needs of families. By working together, they help ensure families, children and you people get the right support, at the right time, and in the right way. They aim to empower families by keeping them informed of the full range of local support options available to them, so they can access the resources they need.
What they do:
- Help parents to engage with practitioners across education, health and social care.
- Facilitate participation in service delivery.
- Represent a voice for parent carers at strategic-level meetings.
- Hold engagement, information and feedback events.
- Host a wide range of workshops and training events.
- Provide parent carers information about what services are available to them.
- Signpost parent carers to other agencies and specific services which we do not provide.
