Paying your Council Tax

You can choose to pay your Council Tax in several ways, usually in 10 or 12 monthly instalments.

Pay by Direct Debit

You can choose to pay your Direct Debit on the first, tenth, eighteenth or twenty-fifth of the month.

To set up a Direct Debit, log in to your account using your unique online key and Council Tax number which can be found on your last bill.

With Direct Debit you have a guarantee of an immediate refund in the unlikely event of an error occurring. We will inform you of any changes 10 working days before the next instalment is due and you are free to cancel at any time, so you stay in control of your payments.

To pay by telephone

Telephone 0300 7906 871 and quote the account or invoice number in your bill, following the prompts on the call. Payments can be made 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Calls cost no more than national rate calls to 01 or 02 numbers, from a landline or mobile.

To pay at a Paypoint

Find your nearest outlet and opening times on the Paypoint website. Take your Council Tax bill with you as you will need to scan the barcode shown. 

You can pay any time with the Paypoint / Allpay mobile app. You can download the Allpay App from the Apple Store or Windows Phone Store or Google Play.
