In an emergency
Call 999 if a child is in immediate danger or involved in a serious crime.
As a professional working with children or families, you may have a concern about parents or children you work with, or believe they need support. In these case you have an obligation to report their circumstances to us in a referral.
If the parent or child already has an open case with a case worker, please contact the case worker directly.
To report that a child has been harmed or is at immediate risk of harm:
Call us first on 020 8583 6600, selecting option 2, then option 3. This line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.
Outside of these times, call 020 8583 2222.
You can make:
- an early help referral for the parents if they have provided consent
- a safeguarding referral if you believe there is a risk to a child’s safety or wellbeing
