Local land charges

When you buy a property or land, you or your solicitor should contact us to make sure there are no restrictions (or charges) that would affect you building or developing there.

These could be charges like:

  • existing planning permission
  • environmental notices
  • tree preservation orders

How to request a search

Submit your search request using the appropriate forms:

  • LLC1 (restrictions in the local land charges register on land or property)
  • CON29 or CON29R (enquiries of local authorities)
  • personal search form (download)

LLC1 and CON29 forms will be held by your solicitor or conveyancer.

Please include one ordnance survey plan with your search request. We do not accept floor plans or location plans.
