Fees

Course fees vary. You can see the fee when you search for a course.

Some courses are free, including:

  • some digital skills courses
  • basic skills courses in English and maths (including GCSEs if you do not already have a grade A to C or grade 4 or higher)

Concessionary entitlement

Earnings threshold

The earnings threshold enables learners to be fully funded if they earn below either:

  • the London Living Wage (currently £27,007.50 annually), if you are a London resident
  • £25,000, if you are a non-London resident

The threshold includes learners who are unemployed, employed or self-employed.

You will need to provide proof of entitlement dated no more than three months before the date of enrolment. For example:

  • a benefit letter
  • wage slip or employment contract detailing salary

London residents: out of work and not receiving benefits

At our discretion, we are now able to fully fund London learners* who are out of work and are not receiving benefits. They need to provide evidence that they either:

  • wanting to be employed
  • are seeking exceptional support with social integration. including those with no recourse to public funds

* There is a 10% fee for community learning courses.

Paying by instalments

You can pay a course fee in monthly instalments if:

  • it costs more than £150
  • you cannot pay the whole fee at enrolment

You will need to pay 50% of the course fee at enrolment. You then pay monthly instalments by Direct Debit, which will be agreed on an individual basis. Please ask for further details at enrolment.

Please note that you are still liable for the fee if you withdraw from the course.

Refunds

We do not give refunds after the start of the course.

We cannot make a refund for absence due to:

  • changes in work commitments
  • changes in personal or financial circumstances
  • any other non-medical reason, such as changing your mind

Administration, resource, examination and assessment fees are not refundable. In exceptional circumstances, we will issue credit vouchers for future courses, which you must use within six months.

We only refund full fees if either:

  • a class is cancelled and there is no suitable alternative
  • the learner is unable to attend for medical reasons and has an appropriate medical certificate
