Homelessness: Apply for the housing register

The housing register is a register of people who are waiting for social housing in Hounslow.

It enables us to allocate council and housing association homes to people in the greatest need. This is done in accordance with our housing allocations policy.

Applying for the housing register is not a solution to an immediate threat of homelessness. It typically takes us 12 weeks to respond to an application, while many applicants wait several years to be offered social housing.

Depending on your circumstances when you tell us you are homeless or worried about homelessness, we may find you emergency accommodation. This is not the same thing as social housing.
